Ship Brokering & Commercials :-1

Dear All

So last day we knows little information of import export of course we will go in deep of course of same in later

Today we are taking little information of Ship brokering ,chartering and commercial activities .
First of all there are two types of ships dry which is called bulk carriers  and wet  which is called as tankers .

Bulk carriers and tankers later on also classified in different types but today we focused on commercial terms which is mostly common to handle .

So generally all ships fixed on 4 basis

1) Bareboat Charterer:- Here ship owner giving ship on rent without manpower and anything .so all things include commercial technical will be managed by second party.

2) Time charter or Period Biz ( TC) :- Here owner keeps technical and Manning  with them and commercial management given to third party on daily fixed rate which is often called as per day hire rate and all fuel expenses on commercial operator

3) Voyage Charterer :- Voyage charterer applied when any ship moving cargo from one port to another port on cargo basis and freight  rate given by per metric tons basis All expense include port DA , fuel on owner / operator head

4) Time Charterer Trip ( TCT) :- Generally from owner vessel given to operators on period or TCT basis and then after operators giving vessel below to cargo owners on VC basis .It's hard to explain but I will clear it with example .In TCT fuel expenses on operator head and not on owner head .TCT either will be for 30-45 days .

For example:- A is owner of the vessel and decided to given vessel to B on TCT basis with hire rate 8000 USD / day for one month period so owner will cover his operational and minimum cost such as assest costs and Manning costs for vessel .Now fuel cost is responsibility of B along with port dues and other charges .Now After fixing cargo for vessel B given vessel to C on voyage basis for 30 days movement .In actual calculations lot of factors involved such as steaming period for vessel ,loading unloading at Port ,port dues and fuel consumption of vessel and profit margins of involved parties  etc

So this is how giant ships moved behind scenes .and this is 24 hour work.Ship  brokers and teams continue working for knowing open positions of vessels and cargos .

It's team work and everyone have their responsibility divided and have to perform .

So hope this is enough for today regarding commercial shipping business .
